I want to give you a short introduction to Chakras. These points are linked to the etheric or energy layer of the Aura. They are important as they receive and send the energy making up your aura. Thus they create the link into other auras or vibrations by transmitting and transforming energy. This is my understanding of chakras – you are free to arrive at your own conclusions about them!
So what is a Chakra?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning ’wheel’ or ‘circle’ and chakras are often described as circles or wheels of energy. They are also described as energy points around the body. There are seven major Chakras located down the spine & skull with many minor chakra points throughout the body, especially the hands and fingers.
Chakras are also described by their position and colour (although chakras can change colour, energy level and direction of spin). The most usual names given to the seven major chakras are: root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown. They are said to represent (in the same order): grounding, sexuality, survival, safety; power & will; self-esteem; trust, love; purification, speaking; psychic visualisation; and, worthiness and trust in Divine Spirit.
Why Can’t I see Them?
In the same way that the aura has to be sensed rather than seen physically so too with chakras. When we capture pictures of auras by use of Kirlian photography it is said the chakras are providing the energy to colour the aura.
What do Chakras look like?
The main description for each chakra is based on the colour of energy it is said to draw in or send out: root is red; sacral is orange; solar plexus is yellow; heart is either pink or green; throat is blue; third eye is violet/purple; and crown is white. It is also reported that chakras can be sensed as moving in a clockwise or anti clockwise direction. Other descriptions are based on chakras appearing to look like flowers – particularly like a lotus flower. Like an aura, chakras can be felt by using your hands, viewed clairvoyantly, dowsed for or sensed. They can be drawn or described to others. Each person will find the method that works best for them.
So what will I see/sense/feel?
What most people experience first is the flow of energy, especially if they are used to sensing auras, around the major chakra sites. There may also be a sensation of flowing energy up and down the body on the chakra ‘line’. A tingling sensation around crown, third eye and throat is not uncommon and more noticeable than in the lower chakras. Finally, there may be a sensation of butterflies, churning or an unsettled feeling in the stomach when the lower chakras are particularly active.
What if they aren‘t active?
Just as with the aura, there are times when we have more demands placed on our Universal/Earth energy. If the chakras get blocked or can’t deal with the energy properly we can get ill, feel tired or need a break from stress and strain. As with the aura, there are things we can do to get our chakras spinning again.
And Finally …
Working to sense, see, draw or feel chakras can be frustrating! Sometimes the ‘picture’ or information comes to you clear and in detail, other times it doesn’t. Patience and practice are required to work with chakras.
